Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport you will be met by a member of the Expect in Africa Safari team who will transfer you by road to your hotel.

An oasis within Arusha set out on 18 acres of beautiful landscaped coffee and tea plantations, pure tranquility with spectacular views of Mount Meru, Gran Meliá Arusha offers a unique experience combining the most exciting once-in-a-lifetime safari destination with state-of-the-art conference facilities.

Following an early breakfast, we will transfer to Arusha airport for the flight to Kogatende to camp in the Northern Serengeti. The flight will take approximately 1.45 hour. Upon landing in the Serengeti, we will be greeted by our guides and begin our safari adventure, as we journey to our camp for lunch and ready ourselves for our first afternoon safari.

The River Camp is loved for its excellent location surrounded by acacia trees and grasslands accommodating the residents around the area. It purposefully resides a few meters from the Mara River, where the picturesque river crossing of the great migration occurs from June to October. Here, the fight for survival is eminent when you are caught off-guard with just how dramatic the crossing is, with hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle toss themselves into the river overcrowded by the Nile crocodile ready to attack and feast on them.

Explore the northern regions of the park, making your way to the Mara River, the sight of the infamous river crossing and the rolling northern hills. Both unique wilderness habitats, teeming with animals and offering amazing sightings. Make your way across the beautiful landscapes for the next three days, taking stunning photos along the way.

Lions and hyenas are also found in great numbers as they also seek to feast upon the weak links of this ferocious race. Our 15 luxury tents all possess incredible viewpoints of this scenic attraction and how hospitality accommodates your experience with outstanding professionalism and detail. The dining and bar lounge areas are perfect for spending our time enjoying the savannah grassland whilst being pleasantly accommodated with our amenities. Today you make your way south to the central Serengeti and have the opportunity to experience the vastness of the Serengeti Plains for the first time. The word ‘Serengeti’ comes from the Maasai word ‘Siringet’, meaning ‘the land that flows on forever’. The plains are home to the huge herds of migrating wildebeest and zebra that cross these lands every year on a journey between Tanzania and Kenya. Arrive in time for lunch and later you will head out for your afternoon drive.

Sametu Camp is made up of eight spacious luxury tents, eight luxury suites, and two-family suites. Within the walls of the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera lies the densest concentration of wildlife in Africa, filled with more then 30,000 animals. Explore this spectacular reserve with phenomenal wildlife sightings in an amazing setting. Capture photographs of the big five and most notably the endangered black rhino amongst numerous other animal and bird life.

We are ten minutes away from the crater entrance to the crater floor; our location allows arranging your drive to the floor a tremendous advantage. Explore the Tarangire National Park, the baobab capital of the world and the park that boasts Tanzania’s largest wildlife population outside the Serengeti, including over 550 bird species that frequent its seasonal swamps. The Tarangire River helps sustain huge herds of elephant during the dry season, offering amazing sightings of these gentle giants. You may also see eland and wild dog that roam the reserve in addition to the rare fringe-eared oryx and gerenuk.

Elegant tents built on raised wood platforms with a private terrace and views of Lake Manyara and the Rift Valley. There is a choice of a king sized bed or two single beds. In the morning you will make your way back to Arusha. An en-route cultural stop for lunch and some souvenir shopping before driving to your hotel. You will have the use of a day room before making your way to the airport to catch your flight after an amazing photographic safari filled with hundreds of spectacular wildlife sightings.
