Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha/Moshi

You’ll arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and be picked up by a representative from Sumbi Extra Miles Safari. You’ll be transferred to your hotel in Arusha/Moshi, where you’ll have a briefing with your guide and go through a gear check to ensure you have all the necessary equipment for the trek. The rest of the day is free to relax and prepare for the trek ahead.

Day 2: Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

After breakfast, you’ll be picked up from your hotel and driven to the Lemosho Gate to begin the trek. You’ll register with the park authorities and start hiking through the lush rainforest, taking in the sights and sounds of the wildlife around you. You’ll arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp, located at 2,750 meters (9,020 feet), and spend the night there.

Day 3: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp

After breakfast, you’ll continue the trek through the rainforest, which gradually gives way to heathland and moorland. You’ll arrive at Shira 1 Camp, located at 3,505 meters (11,500 feet), and spend the night there.

Day 4: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp

After breakfast, you’ll trek through the highland desert and enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Meru and the Shira Plateau. You’ll arrive at Shira 2 Camp, located at 3,840 meters (12,600 feet), and spend the night there.

Day 5: Shira 2 Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

After breakfast, you’ll trek to Lava Tower, located at 4,630 meters (15,190 feet). This is a challenging part of the trek as you’ll gain significant altitude before descending to Barranco Camp, located at 3,976 meters (13,044 feet), where you’ll spend the night.

Day 6: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

After breakfast, you’ll continue the trek through the Barranco Valley, with amazing views of the southern glacier of Kibo. You’ll arrive at Karanga Camp, located at 3,995 meters (13,106 feet), and spend the night there.

Day 7: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

After breakfast, you’ll trek through the alpine desert and reach Barafu Camp, located at 4,673 meters (15,331 feet). You’ll have an early dinner and rest as much as possible before the early morning summit attempt.

Day 8: Summit Day - Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

You’ll wake up around midnight and begin the final ascent to the summit of Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. The trek is very challenging, with steep inclines and rocky terrain, and takes approximately 6-7 hours. You’ll reach the summit at sunrise and have time to take photos and enjoy the amazing view. You’ll then begin the descent back down to Mweka Camp, located at 3,100 meters (10,170 feet), where you’ll spend the night.

Day 9: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate to Arusha/Moshi

After breakfast, you’ll continue the descent through the rainforest until you reach Mweka Gate. You’ll receive your summit certificates and then transfer back to either Arusha or Moshi

End of 8 Days Lemosho Route

Nous revenons tout juste d’un Safari privé  de 9 jours  avec Juma. Tout a été extrêmement bien organisé, de notre accueil à l’aéroport jusqu’à notre retour. Ses guides sont parfaitement expérimentés. Mention spéciale pour Bahati qui connaît les parcs comme sa poche, et fera tout pour que votre Safari soit inoubliable. Les hôtels, les repas, et les lunch box, tout était PARFAIT. Nous sommes partis 4 jours, 3 nuits avec Anderson. Un guide souriant, qui parle bien français, à l’écoute, avec des explications intéressants, aux petits soins de ses clients. Il faisait parti intégrante de notre groupe pendant ces quelques jours. Nous avons pu échanger sur nos cultures. On a vu le big five et bien plus. Des lions, des éléphants, guépards à quelques mètres de notre voiture. Les logements étaient en pleine nature, nous avons entendu les lions la nuit. Nous en partons les yeux émerveillés et plein de souvenirs. Je recommande vivement ! Encore merci à Anderson. Nous avons passé 5 jours inoubliables avec Noël lors d'un safari où grâce à lui nous avons pu observer le Big 5. Fantastisk upplevelse och service!  Bra kommunikation innan resans avgång då vi ändrade resplanen (safarin) flera gånger. Under resan så var kommunikationen utmärkt och vår guide Mr.Anderson var mycket trevlig, punktlig och kunnig om djuren. Bilen var i gott skick och komfortabel.

Nous avons passé un magnifique séjour en Tanzanie grâce à la société de Juma et notre guide Hamisi.Notre guide connaît parfaitement la faune et la flore Tanzanienne. Il avait l'œil pour repérer les animaux au loin et parlait très bien le français.Les hébergements et leur employés étaient super gentils et accueillants. La nourriture était excellente. Ils nous ont laissé un merveilleux souvenir. Juma a été également de très bons conseils lors de notre rencontre et a su s'adapter à nos attentes et nos envies. Nous avons vécu un rêve pendant 4 jours et avons vu des scènes et animaux de toutes sortes et à plusieurs reprises malgré la durée relativement courte de notre safari. Le safari a été très bien organisé, Juma a été flexible et à l'écoute. Notre guide quant à lui était d'une extrême gentillesse et maîtrise son métier (conduite, recherche des animaux, points culture et communication).
